Basic Key Word Sign
Workshop
Key Word Sign (KWS) helps individuals overcome communication barriers. It enables people to understand and share messages more effectively.
Key Word Sign can be used to support individuals in overcoming communication barriers, helping people understand and convey messages more effectively. This accredited course will be delivered by a qualified Speech Pathologist with many years of experience in the disability sector. You will receive a certificate issued by Key Word Sign Australia on completion.
Whether you regularly work with people with disability or simply want to learn essential skills to understand and share basic concepts with people in the community who have a communication impairment.
During the session, you will learn up to 80 signs and natural gestures, discover the principles behind KWS, and explore who can benefit from these communication techniques. We’ll also cover how KWS works alongside other communication tools and learn how KWS is different to Auslan, the language of the Deaf community in Australia.
By gaining these valuable communication skills, you’ll be better equipped to connect with others in your professional and personal life. Understanding and using basic KWS can improve interactions, making everyday communication easier for both you and those who rely on KWS to express themselves. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to enhance your practical communication skills. You’ll also receive accreditation on completion.
