Basic Key Word Sign Workshop - Wollongong
Build practical communication skills with our accredited Key Word Sign (KWS) workshop.
Key Word Sign is a communication approach that uses signs, gestures and speech together to support people with communication difficulties to better understand and express themselves.
This workshop is suitable for:
- People working in the disability sector
- Carers and family members
- Corporate teams
- General community
The training is delivered by a qualified Speech Pathologist with extensive experience in the disability sector.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion issued by Key Word Sign Australia.
What you’ll learn:
- Up to 80 Key Word Sign signs and natural gestures
- The key principles of Key Word Sign
- When and how Key Word Sign can be used in situations
- How to use KWS alongside other communication supports
- The difference between Key Word Sign and Auslan (Australian Sign Language)
About the Training:
This interactive session provides practical, hands-on learning in a supportive environment. Participants will have the opportunity to practise signs and develop confidence using Key Word Sign in everyday situations.
The workshop focuses on building skills that can support communication in both professional and personal settings.
This workshop provides general communication skills training and is not a substitute for individual therapy or clinical assessment.
