Behaviour Support Practitioner​

Ben holds a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology and Communications & Cultural Studies and on graduation from the University of Wollongong, he worked in the corporate space for over 22 years.

Ben has always been passionate about human rights, equality and equity and decided to incorporate these ethics and values into his career, undertaking a Master of Social Work in 2021 and working in the community service sector. This change in career trajectory has provided immense personal satisfaction and greater meaning to his vocational work.

Ben has a lived experience of disability and this brings significant compassion to his work as a behaviour support practitioner. Prior to becoming a behaviour support practitioner, he has experience in working with people experiencing homelessness, mental health and healthcare research.

Ben’s clinical interest are developing skills in therapeutic techniques, such as narrative therapy and trauma informed care.
