Working locally to Illawarra, Gavin Baldock is well known and respected for his commitment to working with people with behaviours of concern, as well as adults and children with histories of complex trauma.
He has extensive experience in operational management and consulting roles, across a range of support settings. From these roles, Gavin integrates his knowledge of service operations with the need delivering behaviour support services that make a true difference in the life of the person.
Gavin’s insight to the practical challenges faced by teams with implementation of theory & strategies ensures his services are person focussed, practical and achievable. Ultimately, Gavin works with teams for a focus on tangible and meaningful outcomes.
He brings a wealth of knowledge on restrictive practices to his delivery of behaviour support services, and uses his expertise in his role as a highly sought after Independent Specialist on authorisation panels for external agencies.
In his training role, Gavin is committed to the development of the workforce, through teaching practical skills and knowledge that support staff to simply do their jobs better- which ultimately results in better outcomes for people with disabilities. Gavin has expertise in delivering a range of quality packages, including behaviour support and Trauma Informed Practice, as well as being a certified Crisis Prevention Institute – Safety Intervention Trainer.
Working in behaviour support practice, whilst having an understanding of a diagnosis or presenting issues, Gavin’s priority is to get to know the person- who they are and what kind of life they want to live.
